Meet Shelby

Hello, my name is Shelby and I am a 6 month young German Shephard puppy. I came from a place where I could run and run and run in a field all day. I liked the daytime, it was fun!. I didn't really like night time because I was usually muzzled and put in a closet so that I was quiet. That is all the training I have received. My day would go from happiness and light, to sadness and darkness. Everyday of my life.

One day, my Treasured Animal Rescue guardian angel came to visit. My angel said: "Shelby, you are too pretty and too smart a girl to be living like this. You will see that there is another life for you!". Then she loaded me in a car and off I went to this wonderful foster home. I love this foster home, there are other doggies that teach me how to behave, there are 2 young ladies that I love to death, and I get to be inside of a house and I am not muzzled and I am not in the dark! I am such a lucky girl. I never knew that night time could be so much fun and love. I am enjoying something called cuddling, go figure.

My foster mom said that I am just like all GSD, I am very smart and bright. She says she can see it in my eyes! I already learned to potty outside and I walk great on a leash. I am working on liking my kennel. Guess what? I love water! My foster mom says she will start giving me swimming lessons. Another one of my favorite things is when I am called "good girl". Those words make me so happy because I know that I am doing something right. I am not sure how to do the right things because I have been left to my own devices for my entire life. I could benefit from another doggie in the house to teach me to trust everyone again. My foster mom thinks that I would make an excellent therapy or service dog. Do you know what that means?

I am going to grow up to be a beautiful large German Shephard. My foster mom says I will be 80 lbs of imposing beauty! LOL (ok then....) I will definitely need a fenced yard and absolutely NO electric or invisible fences. I won't be a good girl in apartment living. I will also benefit from an experienced GSD owner. It would be great if someone could be with me during a big part of the day.

I can't wait to meet my forever family. I promise that I will be a good girl and make you proud. When I go to training you will see how smart I am as I will learn to follow all your commands. I will greet you with kisses every time I see you and will be your faithful companion for the rest of my life. I don't really need much, I just want my daytime to go from happiness and light, to a night time of peace, quiet and love. I can feel the darkness lifting already! Don't you?

Love, Shelby
