Shelby American Staffordshire Terrier Mix Hamden, CT

Shelby is a pit mix about 2 years old. She has been living with a foster throughout her treatment so we have a lot of feedback from that foster about what Shelby is like in the home environment. 4/19/21 Update from foster Family:
Shelby is a champion-level snuggler and one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet! She loves her chew toys, frolicking in the yard with a ball, snuggling under pillows and blankets, and napping like it’s her job. She’s fantastic in her crate — her “safe place” — and will sleep for a full 12 hours if you let her. Shelby does pretty well on the leash, and stays cool as a cucumber around other dogs while on walks, even if they are not as well-behaved as she. She LOVES to please her humans and learns fast — her foster pawrents taught her “sit,” “stay,” “paw,” “leave it,” and are working on “down.” She’d probably be a straight-A student in any further dog training her forever family would like to do with her. Shelby’s great at entertaining herself and doesn’t mind being alone, especially if she knows you’re nearby. She is even great with kids! Shelby’s just an all-around good girl who is ready for a forever family to give her the lifetime of snuggles she deserves!
