Sheila the Heelah is a real deal Australian Cattle Dog Red Heeler. She comes complete with boundless energy and cattle dog attitude (we call it Cattletude). She is about 2 years old, 35 lbs, house trained, crate trained, knows her basic commands (sit, stay, down) and walks well on a leash but she could use work with her recall and social skills. Sheila came in as a stray to a shelter in upstate NY so we really don't have any back history for her. She is a bit insecure and takes a while to warm up to new people. Although she is currently being fostered with 2 other dogs and having no problems, we feel that due to her high energy and prey/play drive she would do much better as an only dog. For these same reasons she should probably go to a home without cats or small children. Experience with the breed would be a big plus. Sheila just loves fetching a ball and playing frisbee (see the video, she rarely misses). She would make an excellent sporting dog and would be great at flyball, agility, competitive frisbee, or just a good companion in an active environment. She has been spayed, completely vetted and is up to date on all meds and preventatives. She is being fostered in Doylestown PA. If you are interested in adoption please fill out the ACDRA application. If you have an questions, feel free to email me at matt.gbf@gmail.com.
