Shara Mixed Breed Memphis, TN

Meet Ms. Shara giving big pup energy! Although she had a rough start to life, this 9-month-old goofball doesn't show any signs of bad feelings. Her fur is growing amazingly. Shara lives with 4 other pups ranging from 3-15 years old. We have had Shara for over a week and is doing great! Shara loves her toys, super soft bed, lounging, snuggles, and running in the yard. When Shara is ready to play she lets everyone know. She plays hard and naps hard.

Keep in mind she is still a pup, so we are still doing pup things. We like to chew on humans, teething toys, sticks, boxes, and blankets. Shara isn't destructive with her chewing, just leaves things wet. We are sleeping in a gated area with no problems. Shara has not had a nighttime accident since the first night. We are getting better with day time house training. We are learning manners with snacks. We can sit for treats and bark when she thinks you may not have seen her sitting patiently. We are slowly learning to walk on a leash, slowly.

This girl is so amazing and is ready to show you.

I forgot to mention this girl loves bananas and watermelon!


A volunteer spent some time with Shara, and here's what they said: "Shara is simply wonderful! She was a little nervous about going outside, but, once in the yard, she became more confident with every minute. Her fur is coming in beautifully. All she needs and wants is security and love. Total lapdog!"

This volunteer has continued to work with Shara, and here's the update! "She was very confident. She went outside and back in on her own. In the yard she was very affectionate and playful."

Shara was part of a small playgroup on 6/13/24. She had to be carried outside due to her not wanting to walk on leash. She was friendly with a gentle/dainty play style. She was very tolerant of the more obnoxious dogs jumping all over her. She preferred watching and observing as everyone else played. After a while, she decided to join in the fun.
