Meet Shanna
Shanna is a very gentle and
affectionate dog who loves being with her humans. She needs an understanding and compassionate adopter. She
would simply enjoy being in the house lounging with her people and giving her family lots of affection! She also really enjoys car rides. She is not a high energy pup anymore at age 4, so she just might be the right fit for a less active household. She enjoys her leash walks though and spending time with her humans. She absolutely loves people and gets along with many of the dogs she meets, but not cats as she wants to chase them.
Shanna needed a break from kennel life as she was becoming stressed and withdrawn so she is currently being fostered in a home with lots of love and companionship, both human and dog. She is much happier in a home, but Shanna really needs her own forever home. She has so much love and devotion to offer. She had been with us in 2021, then adopted, but then was returned in August 2022 as the match was not a good one. She weighs about 80 lbs and would very much love to be your lap dog, although this might be a bit difficult.
She is a just a wonderful girl with the sweetest and most adorable personality.
Now, all of this said, Shanna has not had it easy with all of the changes in the last couple of years. She will need lots of patience and understanding as she adjusts to a new home. She may withdraw a bit and need your time and attention to gain trust. Whoever is lucky enough to adopt her will have an amazing companion and friend for life. Shanna has waited a very long time for her very own home and has had many disappointments. If she sounds like a possible fit for you, please come and meet her!
If interested in meeting Shanna, please call us at 352-528-9888 to set up an
appointment to come and meet her.
We now offer our "Foster to Adopt" program. This program allows for someone interested in adopting a dog, to foster that dog for a up to 30 days first, in order to see if the match is a good one. If the fostering period goes well, then the adoption can move forward.
