The gang here can’t understand why Shaggy has not been adopted yet?!

Shaggy is a beautiful 3 year old lab/shepherd mix with a luxurious black coat with a shimmering sandy undertone and adorable speckled legs. At 60 pounds, Shaggy is a big dog which is equally matched by his big, kind heart. Known for his love of all people, affection, and desire to please, Shaggy is a favorite of the whole gang.

“Jinkies” if this doesn’t make you want Shaggy as your “ole buddy and pal” then his impeccable manners surely will. Shaggy is housebroken, crate trained, sleeps through the night, adores walking on the leash and is always up for car rides and adventures. Shaggy, true to his namesake, is food motivated so training should be a breeze. Shaggy has already mastered some basic commands and is eager to learn more.

But what is most endearing about Shaggy is how devoted and big-hearted he is. Shaggy is the epitome of a companion dog. In the house, he is most content just laying by your side. And, Shaggy, smart as mentioned, has also learned to sit on his hind legs when he wants attention, once you pat him on the head he will roll right over for cuddles and belly rubs. This adoring dog just wants to be your best friend.

Because of Shaggy’s size, it is recommended he go home to a family with older children who can keep up with his playfulness. Shaggy also adores other dogs and would be happy to go home with a canine sibling, but is not a fan of cats.

Now all this devoted, warmhearted dog needs is a home to call his own!

Shaggy is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped.

All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life!
