Meet Trixie~Updated bio & new pictures~

Meet Trixie ~

My name is Trixie and I am a Cattle Dog mix from Mississippi. I weigh roughly 36 lbs. I am 2 years old.

I am the epitome of. a rescue dog! A little Terrier, maybe Heeler, and God only knows what else! My jaw is a bit out of whack, so I was either hit by a car, or smashed in the head really hard by someone. I also have some serious scaring down my back from possibly something flammable, but neither injury bothers me one bit!
Even after this rough first couple of years, I am an outgoing and fun loving girl. I am super happy and super social. I am energetic, and I love, love, love all people. I am usually fabulous with other dogs. The only issue I have with other dogs is when I am on the leash, and I am around a dog that I don't know that is also on leash. I act all aggressive for some reason. Super weird, but regardless, I actually would prefer to go to a home with another dog, or dogs. I really enjoy their company, and I really enjoy playing with them.
Cats, I am totally cool with!

I love the water, I love toys, and I love to play fetch!
My foster mom said that I am also really good at matching the energy of my humans, which is another plus! I am also very mellow inside the home, but always willing to play!

I am actually pretty great off leash and my new foster mom thinks I am a very easy keeper! I seem to just want to follow the pack, (humans & other dogs) and chill with them. I am not a barker, I am great in the crate, and I cause no trouble at all!

With my adorable looks, and unbridled loyalty, I will always be there for you through thick and thin. I will never judge you, or turn my back on you. Every single day, you will look at me and you will know that you are loved unconditionally. I will never betray you or hurt you, and I will grow old by your side.

ABOUT OUR RESCUE DOGS:
All of our dogs are located in Connecticut, are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, have been given deworming medications, and have had CT State health checks, & go home with a leash, collar, & packet of medical paperwork.

BREED IDENTIFICATION:
Please understand that many rescue dogs are mixes of multiple breeds. Petfinder allows us to choose up to two breeds per dog. While the shelters and our rescue do our best in accurately identifying breeds, breed identification is not guaranteed. If there is a certain breed that you do not want, it is very important that you share this with our rescue when applying. When adopting a puppy, breed uncertainty plays a big part in the size/look of the dog as an adult. Please know that any puppy can be a wonderful dog, regardless of preconceived notions of certain breeds, but it is very important that the adopter has the dedication and patience to raise the puppy with boundaries, consistency, structure, & love. The more effort you give towards training & time you allow for exercise, your puppy will grow to be a HUGE source of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, TOTAL LOYALTY, HAPPINESS, COMFORT & COMPANIONSHIP!

ABOUT OUR RESCUE:
We are a small rescue run by volunteers & focused on finding the right match for both our dogs & for you. If you are interested in adopting through our rescue, you first will need to complete an adoption application & be approved as a potential adopter before meeting any of our pups. No need to be intimidated by our application as it allows us to get to know you & your lifestyle. Of course, the more you can share the better! Please also note, while a fenced yard is fantastic, it is not required by our rescue, however, it may be required for a certain dog occasionally. Once adoption applicants are approved to become potential adopters, we offer private appointments where you can meet one or several dogs at the discretion of the rescue. We offer a unique & pleasant experience focused on finding the perfect match. It is extremely important to us that everyone is treated with respect & that NO ONE IS LEFT HANGING. WE WILL GET BACK TO YOU WITHIN 2 TO 3 DAYS of application submission. If there is a dog you are eager to meet, please TEXT US DIRECTLY at 203-241-2351 so that we can check the status of your application and move it forward immediately. We look forward to hearing from you and helping you find your new best friend.

*All adult dogs can be cat tested by request.

HOME/RENTER INSURANCE:
SOME PROVIDERS HAVE VERY STRICT POLICIES REGARDING WHICH TYPE OF DOG BREEDS ARE ALLOWED UNDER THEIR COVERAGE. STATE FARM WAS SUGGESTED TO US AS THEY DO NOT PUNISH, DROP, NOR REFUSE YOU DUE TO DOG BREED SHOULD YOU RUN INTO ISSUES WITH YOUR CURRENT PROVIDER.
