Selda Chihuahua Anchorage, AK

Selda was labeled one of the “Chihuahua Mafia” at Anchorage Animal Care and Control where she was a stray with her sisters. The three sisters stood their ground and defended their space in unison when anyone approached - altho’ a bit intimidating, it was funny to see three little dogs taking on the world - and they were serious. Once in foster, Selda became an obsessive lap-dog - constant companion is an understatement. Selda’s dominate side surfaces occasionally and she has episodes where she chooses to boss the other foster dogs (a squirt of water usually curtails her dominate behavior). She is confident, sturdy and agile, truly devoted, needy, playful, cuddly, opinionated, stubborn, alert, barky (ferocious-sounding protectors with her sharp barks - true alarm gadget), kennel trained, affectionate and comical. She would blossom in an adult home (would not do well with small children); getting her to go outside in the cold - impossible - so puppy pad training has been a priority; relaxing and snoozing in the sun is her religion; would do well with another passive, small breed doggy sibling; with time and patience as she transitions, she’s smart and will learn the house rules; she is adorable but needs a leader or she will not hesitate to be large and in-charge (true to her Chihuahua breed); once she bonds with someone, her devotion is full-on - Selda will give her little heart in full. We do not know her past but we do know she has blossomed so much since she came into foster. Her adoring looks can melt a heart! Her comical antics bring on many smiles.
