8-year-old (approx.), 52-pound Retriever mix
House-trained, Crate-trained

Health: Seamus is being treated for persistent ear infections and recovering from an itchy skin infection. He has no teeth but eats without issues. He does not love baths or ear infection treatment but cooperates.

Seamus is incredibly easy going, gentle and loving companion with a tolerant and sweet presence. He is an older guy who does not want for anything other than a soft place to lay his head, tasty treats, sunshine spots, and as many pets and cuddles as you can spare.

He has done well with everyone he has met, and we believe he would do well with children too. He is an older boy who would be most comfortable in a low energy environment. Seamus has never made a sound beyond snoring and would do fine in an apartment, but single-story would be best to avoid too many steps.

He is great with other dogs, tolerable and patient and has previously encountered cats and done well. He has been a calming presence for his foster home and helps to create stability and security for a foster dog with anxiety.

Seamus does not require much activity in the way of walks or playtime but does greatly enjoy relaxing in the yard. A fenced yard would be wonderful, but a harness and tether would work just fine too as long as he is able to reach the sunshine spots in the yard.

Seamus is a healer and a lover. He is a sweet, happy and peaceful guy that would love to bring joy to your life!


His adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, & Bordetella), HW and flea/tick preventative, and microchip implant and registration.

There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best guess.

Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.

Due to post-adoption services provided, it is Pet Haven's policy to only place dogs into homes within a 75-mile radius of the Minneapolis, MN city center.
