Scruffy Terrier Mix Rochester, NY

We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally, if fencing is required it must be a physical fence and in place at time of home visit.

Scruffy is a 12 lb, terrier mix (we don't know what the mix is), approx. 2 years old, up to date with shots and also neutered. He came from Texas to look for a home to call his own. He is sweet, active, playful, loves attention and cuddling. He is housebroken and started learning leash walking. He is also crate trained at night but prefers to sleep with humans on the bed. He is shy and nervous when meeting strangers or going to new places. Once he warms up, he enjoys hanging out with gentle dogs, but respects the boundary of dogs that like their space. He loves dogs and older kids, but likes to nibble fingers when he seeks attention. We don't know how he is with cats. He will benefit from puppy training classes to learn better doggie manners. Preference given to those with fence yard but not required.

All our dogs have been spayed/neutered; treated for worms; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchip; and examined by veterinarian and given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed.
