Hello there, I'm Scruffy! I'm going to be straight with you. And this might take a minute, so grab a cup of coffee and settle in.

I've been waiting a long time to get adopted. A really, really long time. Are you ready to hear the number of years? Nine. It is my time. It is my time to have a person or persons of my very own. I am a good boy. I could be very easy to have around for the right person. I suppose we can start with my deal-breakers, as I just have two.

Cats and kids who are permanently in the house aren't my cup of tea. I don't want to live with them; I find them annoying, so cat-people and kid-people need not apply. I'm sorry that you cat and kid types will miss out on my awesomeness.
OK, on to the good stuff!

I am a couch potato. Got any couch potatoes out there that would like a companion while we watch Netflix or listen to the news together? Can you believe what's happening in the world today? UGH. I think what's best is to have a sweet and handsome fella around to keep you entertained and keep you company. That's me!

I'd love to hang out on the sofa or on a soft blanket and lounge around with you. For this reason, I wonder if a senior is in need of companionship? Or someone of any age, that is very loving, and that likes to be a mostly indoors-type of person might find my friendship appealing.

My biggest requirement is that my adopter enjoy affection. When you meet me, you will see that my soft and beautiful puppy-dog brown eyes will stare into yours, telling you how much I adore you. I love petting. I like belly rubs and scratches all over my body.

Toys. Did I mention toys yet? I LOVE to carry my special toys around. I want to show you my toys and then lay down and have all my toys around me. Don't you think I deserve to have an abundance of plushy toys around me, at my age? Yes, I think so too!

OK folks. Let's sum this up for all the wonderful people that are giving me a chance by reading this far. I am a senior yes, but I can still get around fine for my potty breaks and a short walk. I need to be adopted by a person who will love me, warts and all, and who has a small budget for toys and a subscription to a TV channel or who likes Internet surfing.

The people who take care of me here at Desert Haven need my adopter to live within Sierra County, New Mexico, as it's important for my new family to establish a relationship with me over a few visits before I move in with them.
