Scrappy Doo Labrador Retriever Mix Lacon, IL

Scrappy Doo was born 12-28-20. He is a lab mix. He was adopted out as a puppy and returned. No- it wasn’t because an owner didn’t have time for him anymore. In fact, the nature of Scrappy Doo’s return had nothing to do with the owner not loving him. The return had nothing to do with Scrappy Doo not being a good enough dog either. Some things just happen. It was a very tearful goodbye when he was brought back to the shelter.

Scrappy Doo was very much loved. His owner went to assisted living, and Scrappy exceeded the weight limit for pets that were allowed at that facility. He is a fantastic dog and any adopter would be fortunate to take over his care. He is a VERY WELL-MANNERED dog. He walks right next to volunteers as he moves in and out of the shelter for potty breaks. He does not jump on you. He keeps a clean kennel. He is quiet in the kennel. He is a great dog. He will transition nicely into a new home .

*Cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccines before they leave The ARK.

The ARK does vet checks. To speed up the adoption process during open viewing hours, we encourage adopters to bring along copies of their vet records, which would include proof of spay-neuters, up-to-date on vaccines, and proof of heartworm testing and prevention for dogs.
