Scooby Terrier Ferrisburgh, VT

Meet our newest dude in need of a home, 8-10 year old, 70lb Scooby. He likes to play ball, loves creeks and lakes but will pout at bath time, LOVES car rides. Scooby is neutered, is house trained by going to the door to be let out, sleeps in his crate so we leave the door open for him to go in and out. He sleeps at the top of the stairs when we are gone so he can watch out the window for us. He is not bothered by other dogs as long as they aren't bigger than him (at 70lbs there aren't many who are) or all over him. His owners has fostered puppies and he enjoys playing with them. He has never bothered the cats, I think he may be kind of scared of them. Has been great with children (he grew up in a home with 6 children) of all ages, likes to play with a laser like a cat would, and likes to play fetch with balls. Scooby is quite strong and is working on pulling less on the leash but he is good off-leash and respects fences. He is very calm but gets excited when you come home and if you play with him fetch etc. He does not jump on people. He will bark when someone knocks or comes to the door but then quiets down. Doesn't dart or go outside without being told it's ok. Scooby was surrendered by a lovely but very young family who couldn't afford to keep him any longer and know he will have a better future with someone who can give him more. Scooby is truly what a rescue dog is all about. His adoption fee is 350. Even though he's a senior dog Scooby certainly dogs not act like an old man but instead a normal, happy adult dog who loves to be with his person.
