Meet Scooby

Scooby is a sweet and mellow Chihuahua, found on the streets in January, cold, shivering and badly underweight. The vet thinks he is about 11 to 12 years old. His seven weeks in foster care have done wonders for his overall health and he is now at a healthy 6 pounds. Though left with only one front tooth, he is a good eater, with both soft canned food and softened kibble. He loves to wrestle with, and flip around, his soft squeaky toys. He walks well on leash but also loves to just poke around outside in his fenced yard. He is fine with other dogs. He likes to cuddle with his human friends but is not overly needy.
Scooby knows the “rules” of peeing outside, but he occasionally forgets. That problem is solved easily because he is very amenable to wearing a belly band when he is inside and unattended. As long as he gets outside regularly, the belly band stays dry, serving as a reminder that peeing is an outside affair. Scooby is not a barker (will alert for a new person in the house but quickly stops).
Thoroughly vetted with the usual tests for a senior dog, he has been given a clean bill of health. He is fully crate trained and sleeps through the night there with no fuss. He has never peed or pooped in his crate. He loves his naps and his soft cushy dog bed where he will disappear entirely under his blanket and sleep for hours. He's being fostered in Sudbury and his adoption fee will be $150.
