Meet Scamp
Meet Scamp! He's approximately 1 year old and is a 13-lb. Yorkie / Cairn Terrier mix with maybe a tad of Shih Tzu, as far as we can tell.
He's a smart little guy and very sweet -- in fact he's a snuggle muffin.
He's active, loves to play, and his foster Mom takes him for 2-4 mile hikes every day.
SDR will give preference to applicants who are willing to work with little Scamp. He would be good in a house with another young, small dog, but would also do well as a solo dog.
He is fearful of medium to large dogs or dogs that are aggressive with him. Whoever adopts him will need to be committed to working with a trainer with him, and walking with treats to teach him he is safe on walks. His ideal home is a quiet home with an active, intelligent, loving person. He could live with a couple but he does have some issues resource guarding one of his people when the other would hug/kiss the other. We wonder if he was in a home with domestic abuse? We are working on this issue and his adopters will need to continue this. He is very food motivated and incredibly smart!
Terrier experience is also preferred due to the needs and personalities of Terriers.
Scamp has had a hard life but he is super smart. Such a great guy for someone who wants to continue working with this little guy.
