Meet Sarah
Sarah is partially Deaf. Deaf dogs are not difficult to deal with but do require a bit of patience.
When asleep she could sleep through a war, but awake she can hear "some" things and will respond by looking at you. We are working with "Gentle Touch" and hand signals along with words.
In all other ways Sarah is absolutely normal and healthy.
She came to us when she was dropped off at the local pound by people who did not want this beautiful deaf girl.
Sarah is almost two years old as of Summer 2010. She gets along very well with other dogs (see her kissing one of the other dogs here)
She is extremely playful but absolutely wants to be a large lap-puppy.
Working with a deaf dog is not as difficult as one would think. You use gentle touch to get her attention and hand signals for training (which dog trainers always do anyhow!) Sarah wants to please. She would learn easily with a little guidance. Sarah is a large-ish puppy and she is very strong and exuberant, so we suggest a home without small children.
Won't you give SArah a chance to have a forever home???
We would prefer to see her in a home with another dog, as deaf animals take their cures from other animals. Also, she will need a good fence and a dog-door.

Sarah still has no found her forever home. Won't you be the one to give this deserving girl the love she needs??
