Sanford Corgi & Terrier Mix Schaumburg, IL

It has been said that senior dogs are the best dogs. When it comes to Sanford, a truer statement has never been spoken. This gentle guy made his way to SCCR from Arkansas and is ready for a family and comfy bed to call his own.

Sanford came in quite sad and slow, but with TLC from his foster mom, the fur on his back is growing in nicely and he found the joys of arthritis medication for his aching bones. Now he can be quite frisky when he plays with toys!

Sanford loves giving and receiving attention. Belly rubs, ear scratches and butt rubs are his favorites. In return, he showers you with love and loyalty. He is currently doubling as slippers for his foster mom! He loves laying at her feet, keeping them warm (Did he ever know his cuddly, furry body makes great slippers?!).

When outside, he is a curious and well-mannered gentleman. He enjoys short leisurely walks in the neighborhood, reading the news of the day, and meeting new friends (human and canine). His foster mom says that Sanford is an easy-going guy and doesn't ask for much. He's grateful for a comfy place to lay his head and a full bowl of food. He is not bothered by the sounds or smells of the city, and he rides an elevator like he used to be a bellhop in his past.

Sanford is an exceptionally sweet dog that has traveled far to keep your feet warm, or possibly assist you in elevators, or both! Come and meet this cuddly guy and see if he’s the right fit for your family.
