Meet Sandy
Our adoption procedure will still be the following below:
Dog meet and greets are by appointment only, please answer the questions below the bio, either through Petfinder, Adopt-A-Pet or by directly e-mailing us at shelter@hbpets.org. Please be patient, we are over capacity and short staffed, we try to get back to everyone quickly, it may be 4-5 days.
Our sweet Sandy needed a break from meet and greets, but she is ready to try again. Sandy has been picked up as a stray twice and this last time her owner didn't come for her. Sandy is a spayed female, Malamute Mix approx. 3-5yrs old. When she 1st came in, she would not go out of her run, she was so scared, she would flinch when we offered her treats, it was heart breaking. Sandy was very overweight when she arrived, we ran blood work and all was normal. Slowly she started to get more comfortable. Then we got another stray in named Romeo a sweet handsome Husky in and Sandy became animated, barking, prancing, tail was up and she was ready to meet him. Once his stray hold was up, they went out together and day by day she has gotten more confident. She plays with several other dogs in our field and has no problem letting them know when she has had to much. Sandy doesn't like yelling of any kind or fast movement, she has never been aggressive but it really scares her. Sandy needs a kind soul to continue her healing, she would love a husky brother or sister. Did we mention she has lost weight and can now roll around in our field, she loves it. She is still very shy with new people, but once she trusts you, your heart will melt.
Sandy would prefer a home with other dogs, her favorite dog is a husky and this is the way to her heart and for her to trust you.
My adoption fee is $120: This includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, microchip + 1 year membership paid for, dewormer, flea treatment and a 1 pound bag of food they are currently on.
