Meet Sandy

July 10, 2008 - Meet the Brothers McPuggle! Rusty, the darker, and Sandy, the lighter, were pulled out of animal control in Coshocton, OH and are now in a foster home in Indianapolis, IN.They're not actually brothers, but they came into the shelter together, were kenneled together, and I felt the need to pull them together. Plus, they LOVE each other! They are both approximately 2 yrs old and just shy of 25 lbs. Typical of puggles, they are little balls of energy and love to play! Don't let them fool you though - they are also ALWAYS up for a good snuggle! They have both been neutered and their shots are fully UTD.Rusty also had a minor surgery on his back feet when he was under for the neuter. He apparently had little dew claws on his hing legs that were really just flaps of skin but they were getting caught on everything. So the vet went ahead and removed them so they wouldn't be torn off accidentally. (Ouch!) Sandy has apparently already had one surgery to repair a cherry eye, but it didn't take very well, so the vet also corrected that. He should be fine in the future, although may have a problem with dry eye once he gets older. This is fairly simply to manage and requires eye drops, just like it would for a person with dry eye. Both boys are housebroken and haven't been at all destructive when they've been left alone. They are also crate trained and don't appear to mind spending time in their crates.Rusty and Sandy obviously get along well with other dogs. They do not HAVE to be adopted together, but I would prefer to send them to a home with another dog in it if they go separately.More later as they start to settle into their foster home and more of their fun little personalities start to shine. Stay tuned!!
