Samson Doberman Pinscher Arlington, VA

Samson: My name is Samson. I am 6-year-old black and tan male with a docked tail and natural ears. When I came to DAR&E, I was not being well taken care of. I had to have some teeth removed and had demodectic mange (noncontagious form of mange). I tend to not put weight on one my hind legs, when standing, due to an injury that may never have been treated. I am tall and weigh a healthy 85lbs.
Even though Samson has been through a lot, he has a great attitude on life. He is big teddy bear that wants constant love and is like velcro to his foster dad’s side. He is dog friendly and kid friendly. He wants to play with his foster cat sisters, so he might get along with the right cat.
Samson’s hair is starting to grow back in the area’s he had mange and is on supplements to help with his hind leg. A house with few steps would be ideal for him. He can do a full flight of steps, but it is hard on his legs. He does fine out on walks and has a good gait. Even though he has had some teeth removed, he has no problem with his dry food diet and loves chewing on bones.
