Sammy Pomeranian & Tibetan Spaniel Mix Rochester, NY

Sammy is a male, neutered 10-year-old Tibetan Spaniel/Pomeranian mix breed and approximately 17 pounds. Sammy only had his elderly owner and now that she has passed away, we want to find a perfect forever home for him to spend his remaining time getting the proper care he deserves and love he needs. As a senior dog, he is in his golden years, yet he is still a playful dog, loves treats, loves to nap and snuggle. He is up to date on all shots. He is house broken, but does need to be taken out every 4-5 hours or there may be an accident to clean up. He has never had much time around other animals. He shows little to no interest in cats , but does become very territorial against other dogs, so a home where he’s the only dog would be best. He would be best suited to a home where he is the only pet. He does great with children, and adults. He does well with a leash but could definitely use some work as he is used to being in a fenced yard and will wander if allowed. He is spry for his age, and will wander quickly if not leashed. As he is a senior dog he does have a few health issues. He has a benign tumor in his nasal canal that makes breathing a little hard on him when he gets over excited, he takes anti-inflammatory medication (Rimadyl) to help alleviate that condition. What we truly hope for Sammy is the happy ending to his story he deserves. Apply to meet this handsome little guy!
