Meet Sammy

Sammy is looking for his forever home. This 8-year old has not had it easy as of lately. His hu-parent, who probably cared very much for Sammy, passed away and his family was no longer able to care for him. He was adopted out from the shelter and returned four months later.

**UPDATE** When we pulled Sammy from the shelter we were told he had some underlying health issues. Sammy went to the vet for his senior workup. His **blood work and urine came back NORMAL**!! Great news for Sammy!! He just needed time, love, and patience. Sammy does have some arthritis issues but with joint support and regular exercise, he is doing so much better. We never know when we take in a senior how much time they have but Sammy is so deserving of living out the rest of his life in a home.

Sammy is looking for someone home more often than not. He will try to bolt out of his foster mom's home if he knows she is leaving without him but after a week now he is learning the routine and that she is coming back.

Sammy is underweight and should be a healthy 130 pounds. He is a picky eater but we are working on this. Sammy is still active and enjoys walks. If you are interested in learning more please contact us today!

If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog, please complete an application online via our website: https://www.chaamp.org/ or email: CHAAMPapplication@gmail.com for an application.

Your application helps CHAAMP determine a good match based upon your lifestyle, other pets, etc. We are happy to work with you. A home visit is required prior to all adoptions. You can visit the Malamutes once you're approved for adoption. Alternatively, you may volunteer and learn how positive reinforcement brings out the best in Malamutes.

CHAAMP accepts applications from Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington DC.

ADOPTION FEES
~Adult dogs (two-seven years old): $275.00
~Older dogs (eight years old or over): $100.00
~Puppies (6 months - 1 year): $350.00
~Puppies (under 6 months): $375.00

All Malamutes are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccines. Adoption fees help us cover these costs. Puppy fees are higher because they require more vet visits for vaccines.

CHAAMP IS NOT A SHELTER. We are volunteers covering a 7-state region.

CHAAMP is a Rescue Affiliate Member of the Alaskan Malamute Assistance League (AMAL). Our rescue efforts are coordinated locally. For a list of AMAL rescues in the USA and Canada, please visit https://www.malamuterescue.org/

CHAAMP is also a proud rescue member of the Pet Professional Guild. We say no to Shock, Prong, Choke, Pain, Force & Fear.
