Meet Samford
Samford is a 4 year old blue-tick coonhound.
Samford is a great dog with a lot to learn but he is catching on quickly. We suspect that this is his first family experience because he was found as a stray.
He enjoys laying on the floor chewing his bone, roughhousing with other dogs that he knows. And will put himself to bed when he's tired. He is a very sweet boy. He does have food guarding habits due to being a stray and emaciated. This means he will need to be fed separately.
He is amazing to walk on a leash (we use a gentle leader). He loves other dogs and plays very appropriately with the resident dog. Samford is a very quick learner.
Samford is house trained. He is crate trained (for sleeping and when home alone) and seems to like being in his crate. Occasionally he resists going in because he likes to be with people.
Samford would do best in a home without cats and if a fence it must be 6ft.
