Samantha, formerly known as Lelu, was surrendered to us after losing her owner to suicide. Samantha was being well cared for by her owner's roommate and his father, but sadly couldn't stay with them and her owner's family didn't want her. One our long time fosters stepped up for this sweet potato and she joined the Forlorn Family on January 11, 2020. Samantha took a trip to our vet, who immediately began treatment for allergies and skin issues. She is now on daily allergy medication and it has improved her skin significantly! Her ears were both infected, so she is receiving treatment for that as well. This lovely girl is heartworm free and her vaccines are completely up to date.
Samantha was clearly a beloved family pet. She is house trained and very well-mannered. She knows an unbelievable range of commands, from 'sit' to 'speak.' Her quick 'roll over' is the sweetest thing you have ever seen! Samantha also knows 'off' and 'down' as well as 'wait.' She is responsive to almost anyone who gives the command (as long as you have her attention), not just her foster family. Samantha showers everyone she meets with love and demands unlimited belly rubs. In her foster home, her teenage sisters take turns cuddling with her on the couch. She loves to watch movies with them, but also loves her daily walk! Samantha walks 2-3 miles a day in her foster home with no trouble; she also has impeccable leash manners. She enjoys the company of other dogs and will watch the dynamics of her pack, then find the place she fits in. She is not demanding, but definitely curious! She loves to run and play, but will also happily put herself to bed for a nap once playtime is over. This lovely lady is a wonderful lovebug who would be perfect for an active home. We believe she would do well as an only dog or as a part of a pack - the most important thing to her is the love of her people. She would probably do best in a home without cats. If you don't even know a Samantha ... maybe you should take time to meet one!
Our adoption fee is $300. All dogs are current on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, on heartworm prevention, and are fed top of the line grain-free food.www.savingpitbulls.org
