Sam Cattle Dog & Basset Hound Mix Mokena, IL

Meet Sam! Sam is an absolutely precious 3 year old Cattle dog/Basset Hound or Corgi mix. He came to naws after being rescued from a high kill shelter. This boy is fun and spunky! He is currently being treated for heartworm. Naws covers all heartworm treatment at our medical clinic. Sam is looking for a home that can help him stay calm during his treatment. He prefer to be the only pet in the home and would do well with older children/teens. He enjoys going on walks and chin scratches. He would make a wonderful addition to any family!


The NAWS Dog Adoption Program operates as a rescue versus a shelter. We believe in matching the right dog with the appropriate family based on each specific dog or family's needs. To achieve this, we believe in spending the appropriate amount of time with each family to allow for enough interaction time with potential adopters. This cannot be achieved if people stop by unexpectedly to meet our dogs.
