Meet Sam

Meet Sam. He's the most gentle 2.5 years old, 81 lbs. Lab/Pyrenees mix you could ever meet!

He is just a big old love bug, fairly low energy, and friendly with both people and dogs. Sam came to us from Kentucky.

Sam wants to be with you wherever you are and will follow you around the house. Perfectly house trained and crate trained, he's also completely trustworthy with free reign of the house outside of the crate. He's up to date on vaccinations, and neutered.

Sam thinks he's a circus bear and will sit up on his back legs and try to throw his front legs around you in a hug. He doesn't know how big he is so he will do best with older children (maybe 10 and up) and he'd love a large visible fenced in-yard but would do just fine with getting leash walks if you don't have a fence at all. Sam is not a good candidate for an invisible fence.

Even though Sam's foster has two Chinese Crested dogs that are small, and he respects them completely, squirrels are fair game. This "prey-drive" means we aren't comfortable with a home with cats.

Sam doesn’t enjoy trips to stores, and will pancake to the floor once he’s inside. He will need to be acclimatized if you are looking for a shopping companion. This means baths at home, at least until he’s socialized to public stores.

He rides great in the car, though, and has been to the vet a few times.

If you're looking for a loveable companion dog, Sam just might be the one for you.
