SAM Labrador Retriever & Hound Mix La Grange, KY

New to the program! SAM is available to ADOPT!
He is 1 year old and perhaps a lab/hound mix and weighs 50 lbs. He's in a wonderful foster home where his mom has been able to "check the box" on many of the questions our adopters ask - he is dog friendly, cat friendly, child friendly and house trained!
SAM's story is a sad one and the exact reason Adopt Me! places great emphasis on the proper fit for every family and dog. Not more than a couple of months ago, SAM found himself in a large, metro shelter. He was adopted out the week after Christmas. He ran away from his new owner the following day and was found by a kind person. His microchip allowed the person to trace to the owner who 4 days prior had adopted SAM. Thinking that the phone call would result in a happy reunion, the new owner declared she really didn't want him anyway. He was surrendered to the finder of the dog who then connected with our rescue.
Remarkably, SAM is in great spirits and loving life. All indications are he's a great dog making you wonder how he was displaced from not one, but two homes. Adopt Me! will make every effort to make sure the third home will be his last! We are a foster based rescue and with an approved application, we'll be happy to set up a meet and greet by appointment.
