Salsita's Story

We got a plea to help this girl. One of our friends went out to evaluate her, and we got a call back that she had grabbed her. The situation had become dire. Heavily pregnant dog and the family was moving a few days later. The family had been trying to care for this dog for some time, but this dog had been abandoned quite a while ago. Well, our friend was going to hold her overnight so that we could make preparations for her, and she surprised us all by giving birth!

She had three puppies. We moved quickly to make preparations to move forward and care for this sweet little family. She found a safe space just in time, and these pups will never know suffering like their momma had to endure. Momma has been overprotective and vigilant over the pups. We are taking it slow with her and plan to remove the pups one at a time. She will be spayed January 20th and will be looking for her forever home. We would love her to have someone who is retired or works mostly from home. She loves being a lap dog and needs lots of attention and reassurance. Salsita is a young adult, about 2 years old. She is a terrier, about 18 lbs.
