SAL American Staffordshire Terrier & Pit Bull Terrier Mix POTOMAC, MD

Starved, emaciated, scarred, neglected, abused Sal was bred, baited and then dumped on the side of the road. She had gone her entire life with no love, medical care, safety or compassion. Her entrance to the shelter and time spent with Alanna was the first time she has ever known kindness. Sal is the prime example of what’s wrong with animal welfare laws. @voicesforlancaster.scanimals team was on the edge of its seat worried for what outcome Sal will face because the truth is, Voices doesn't see girls like her make it out of the shelter alive often. She’s a scarred, black pittie mama. Mama pitties are the most unloved and overlooked dogs in any shelter. The team's heart was aching over this girl. They desperately wanted her to know the permanency of a home, sense of belonging to a family, human affection, and a body that doesn't feel broken. Her body is a road map to the true evil that exists in this world. Her life has consisted of nothing but horror. Yet, she embodies resilience, still. Sal craves human connection. This baby lived a real-life nightmare, yet she chooses love and softness. Her dog tests have went well, considering. Sal greets the friendly ones, and simply ignores and walks away from the reactive ones. She seems to be unsocialized lacks doggy manners. She will need someone with patience, willing to go at her pace, and who can provide endless TLC while she learns how to be a dog and navigates life in a home as part of a family.
