Meet Coco *Deaf
Hello! I am Coco! Coco is a 9 month old, mixed breed puppy. She is deaf. Our best guess is that she is an Akita mix. She will be a large dog and will need someone who can spend time working with her on training while she is still young so she does not become an unmanageable adult. So far she is doing great! She is working on learning not to jump and leash training. She is very smart, responsive to hand signals, and mastering crate training.
Coco is a wonderful puppy. She is a confident, well balanced girl who has no problem meeting new people. She is fostered with other dogs and does wonderfully, and has done well with all cats in the past. Coco was briefly fostered with ferrets and rabbits and we quickly learned that she cannot go to a forever home with these types of pets in it. We believe Coco should be placed with a tolerant dog who can handle her rowdy play style. She plays rough because she cannot hear the other dog's social cues, but she is very sweet and never intends any harm. She is even submissive to small dogs.
Apartment living will not be for Coco, and she will need a 6-foot fenced yard. She doesn't bark often but she can be noisy in her crate, at least until you get her settled into a routine. We are hoping her forever home can continue her sign language training.
