Sage Mae's Story

Sage Mae, the little senior gal from South Carolina is such a doll! She would be a great family dog, she is friendly to people (including kids) and animals alike. Currently living with another dog, she shares toys, space, and cuddles.

Sage is seven years old, 40 pounds, and a "real cuddle bug" according to her foster. She wants to be next to her foster on the sofa and actively seeks out attention. A bit unsure of loud noises, Sage is a country girl at heart, who will acclimate to her environment in due time.

Sage is a quick learner and sits automatically when her foster brings out her harness in preparation for a walk. She also knows the "sit" command, especially when treats are involved! Unusual for a hound, Sage does not bark a lot, and her foster has only heard her bark (a single bark) when she was hungry for dinner.

Sage would make a great family dog, but probably best with children ages seven and up, as she gets excited and may jump up, although this could be resolved with proper training.

Sage is great in the car, ready for any adventure, and despite her age she has an abundance of energy and would be a worthy hiking mate! Sage is housetrained and when in the home, she plays quietly, relaxes, and snuggles up. Will you be her forever snuggle!?

PAW adopts in the MD, DC, northern VA, and northern PA region.
