Sadie's Story

Meet Sadie! Sadie is a young, energetic, and friendly dog who is athletic and loves to play. This poor girl spent the first months of her life locked up in a dog run with not enough exercise or love. She was given some training to have basic commands down, but she needs so much more! She needs a family that will shower her with attention, love, EXERCISE, and further training. She needs a person who will get her to understand that you are the head of the pack! She is amazing and loving. She spent months at the Hitchcock Animal Shelter, and they loved her to bits, but because of her past experience in a dog run, she did not do well in the kennels and needed out! We saved her at the last moment and hope to find her a home ASAP as she deserves not to have to languish in foster care before her furever family is found. If you're interested in adopting Sadi, please come and meet her. She can't wait to find her forever home and have lots of fun adventures with you! So if you're looking for a loyal companion with lots of love and energy, Sadi is the perfect fit!

• Spayed, Chipped & Vaccinated
• Loves walks, runs, and playing fetch, knows basic commands, and is treat motivated.
• Great in the car; housebroken & loves people
• Still pulls on her leash & will need continued training along with daily exercise & space
• Sadie would be best in a home w/o cats or young children
• Meet and greet required with current dogs, if there are any in the household
• Must have a fenced yard

Positive traits:
Aussies are loyal, affectionate, and intelligent, making them good companions for families. They are also energetic and playful, which can be a great match for active families.

Potential challenges:
Their herding instincts can sometimes lead them to try to "herd" children, particularly smaller ones, or other pets. They also have a high energy level and require a lot of exercise and mental stimulation to prevent boredom and destructive behavior.

Suitability for families:
Aussies are best suited for families who are active, willing to dedicate time to training and socialization, and can provide them with the necessary exercise and attention. They may not be the best fit for families with very young children or those who are unable to provide them with the amount of exercise they require.
