Sabrina Shepherd Mix Palatine, IL

There is real magic in Sabrina, a 50 pound, 3 year old Shepherd/Beagle mix. She can make treats and cookies disappear in a flash and is an exceptional escape artist. Sabrina is a very nice dog who wants to please. She was previously adopted in 2018 but her owner recently moved and couldn’t take her with to the new home.

This girl has her routine down pat. Sabrina is completely housebroken and will go by the door and whimper to go out. She doesn't use a crate & is well-behaved when left alone. Her barking seems to be limited to alerting her fosters when someone is at the door. As for sleeping arrangements, she naps on her dog bed, or on the floor/rug, choosing to lie in a sunny place when she can. At night, she sleeps on her dog bed or on the floor/rug. 

This smart little magician already knows lots of tricks: sit, no, off, go potty/out, and paw. She is clearly very trainable. She loves toys. Her favorite is a big, pink, fluffy dog that has a squeaker in each leg. She also enjoys chewing on Nyla bones and other chew toys. 

Sabrina likes walks and does well with the harness lead. She could benefit from some more leash training because she is definitely interested in chasing squirrels. She is very active and loves to run in the fenced yard. It seems that she would love to stay outside; she is very interested in chasing squirrels and has shown interest in birds she has seen on walks. Her former owner said Sabrina was NOT good with cats.

If we do not receive any communication from you, the dog may be adopted out at our event prior to 12 pm if the perfect home comes along :-)

However, visual breed identification is unreliable. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog’s individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess. Dogs are individuals.
