Rutabaga is a one-man party machine with a heart of gold and a growing desire to be a very good boy! This super playful, high-energy 2-year-old, 45-pound pup greets everyone with boundless enthusiasm and an infectious zest for life. He loves going on walks-especially long ones where he can people-watch (he recently enjoyed some sand volleyball!)-and is already showing great improvement on leash.

Ruty recently had a sleepover with a foster and proved he's more than just energy-he's also full of potential. He had no accidents in the house, respected toys, and when he was chewing and his person walked away, he dropped the toy just to follow. He's eager to bond and wants to be near his human. He even settled nicely in his crate and hasn't made a peep since-what a champ!

Rutabaga is still in his decompression phase and will need structure as he adjusts to a home setting. He's not ready for full house freedom yet, but with clear boundaries and consistency, he's already showing he's ready to learn and thrive. Treats are a major motivator for him, and with some patience and training, he's sure to become a polite, adventure-ready companion.

He came to the shelter when his previous owner could no longer care for him, and now he's ready to find a forever home that matches his fun-loving spirit and helps guide him into his best self. If you're looking for a pup who will keep you laughing, moving, and feeling loved-Rutabaga's your guy!
As one of our LifeSaver dogs, his adoption fee is waived. He will be sent home with a bag of goodies to not only set him up for success in his new home, but help him thrive. Our training team will also be available to help with transitionimg into a home or any issues that may arise.
