Rukus Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler Los Alamitos, CA

Rukus is a male 10 yr old cattle dog (Queensland Heeler). Rukus has had one home but sadly due to divorce and a move his previous owners were not able to keep him. He has ear/skin infections which we are treating but he may need allergy meds long term (too soon to tell). Rukus is a very chubby boy, he should thin out to around 40 lbs. He is very calm and sweet, great on the leash, happy to take slow walks and sit leaning on people. He is mellow and has very soulful eyes. This would be a great pup for seniors or just anyone who wants and easy/lazy boy. He would be perfectly happy being and only dog as people are what he really likes and he definitely does not like dogs barking in his face.. He listens to his commands and is really very gentle. He LOVES treats.
Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. If you do not live within a 2 hr drive of Orange County, please email us before applying to see if the dog you are interested is may be a candidate for long distance adoption. We only make consider long distance adoptions for dogs who have been in our rescue for 6 plus months with no local candidates.

We do not have a shelter/kennel. Our pets are fostered/boarded all over LA and Orange County.
This pet is altered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has had a brief temperament evaluation to help us determine what type of a home he/she would thrive in. Please note that we put lots of time and effort to make sure our pets are ready to be someone's perfect pet before they go home.... and to make sure that we will have the best possible match for this pet we do require an : application, interview, adoption fee and in some case a home check.
