Meet Rukis!

Rukis is a wonderful, medium energy, 3 year old gentleman. Don’t let his big smooshy noggin fool you, he is the perfect size – not too big, not too small! He has been working hard with his friends at Handsome Dan's Rescue and Providence Animal Rescue League to gain confidence and impulse control, and is now officially available for adoption!

Rukis can be a bit timid at first, but with a little patience makes fast friends with everyone he meets. Once comfortable, he sometimes gets a little too excited about his new friends, so we are recommending he go to an adult only home so he doesn’t accidentally knock anyone over! He might do ok with the right dog friend, but he is not a fan of cats.

Rukis is attending Pit Class through Outbound Hounds and getting supplies and fun times through Handsome Dan’s Shelter Dog Enrichment Program. He is very eager to learn new skills, so Rukis will go home with FREE training through BOTH HDR's Take My Lead program and PARL's Leap Fund. Because he takes a little longer than most to get used to new environments and new people, this training will be essential for making him comfortable in his new home, and teaching his new family the skills they need to make sure he continues to make progress and thrive!
