Meet Rudy
Meet lovable goofball Rudy! Rudy is a 2-year-old (on October 10) yellow Labrador retriever who came into foster care from a shelter in Maryland. Rudy is fully house-trained and loves taking his meals in his crate, where he will also peacefully spend his nights.
Rudy enjoys long walks around the neighborhood, hikes in the woods and swimming in the creek and is a big fan of fetch and tug. He also loves learning new things! Since leaving the shelter, Rudy has learned Sit, Wait, Lie Down, Touch, Gentle, Crate, and Leave It. Rudy is a certified Very Good Boy, who just wants to spend time with his people and get lots of belly rubs and ear scritches.
As a young Lab, Rudy needs plenty of exercise, both physical and mental, so his new family should be looking forward to daily walks and training sessions. He enjoys short rounds of playing fetch so a fenced yard would be nice for him, but not a necessity. Because Rudy is a Velcro dog who shows some signs of mild separation anxiety, it would be best of at least one of his people is able to be at home with him during the day. Rudy would also do best in a home without other dogs, or with a sedate older dog. Rudy is also a danger to cats so he should live in a home without them.
