Meet Ruby Star

Ruby Star has a pending adoption!
Ruby Star is a talker. If only we knew what she was saying! She is a very sweet and loving girl who likes to give kisses, snuggle, and be the center of attention. Ruby Star has had a tough life, as evidenced by the scar on her face. At only 22 months, she is still young, but is well-mannered and calm.

She zig zags on a leash, but isn’t a big puller. This will just take some leash training. She knows sit, takes treats gently, and eats well. Ruby Star also appears to be very bright and learns commands quickly. She figured out the dog door in a day and will let herself out when she needs to go or sees the dreaded squirrels in her yard.

While she initially barks at other dogs, she then seems to quickly settle down. Her fosters don’t have another dog, and aren’t sure how she really does with other dogs as this social distancing has kept her well apart from any dog she sees on a walk.

She loves people. Her fosters believe she likes children, again social distancing has kept her away from them. But she whines and wags her tail vigorously when she sees children on a walk.

She enjoys a good dog chew, antler, horn or bone and likes to drag her bed around; but, hasn’t done any damage to anything. She does have a fascination for glasses and those can get dragged off if left at her level.

She is a terrific dog and will make someone the perfect companion.
