Meet Lady Ruby!
Precious only just begins to describe our little lady Ruby. She is a 2 year old puppy mill mamma & we are so grateful to have had the chance to rescue her from that unhappy start of her world. She is remarkably sweet and even with her tail between her legs is still eager to meet you. Albeit timid she is eager to be loved and has definitely caught on to belly rubs and affection. Ruby wants to be where her person is or very close by on some comfy pillows where she can see you. She definitely will benefit from living with someone who is home the majority of the time. She is a Velcro dog and very anxious to not let you out of her sight. She is warming up to the idea of engaging with other dogs, but for the most part hasn’t decided she needs to. She has no issue with being around them unless they’re too pushy . Playing, toys and engaging with other dogs is foreign to her. It’s the sad truth of puppy mill life. I have high hopes for her as I see her beginning to blossom already - she even did a puppy pounce and initiated play with a foster sibling for the first time today - but only once. But that’s Huge and happy progress! Given time I see her becoming all the dog she deserves to be. In spite of her beginnings, she is a happy, gentle soul and an absolute sweetheart.
For Ruby’s well being a companion dog of similar age and gentle spirit is the ideal scenario for her Furever home.

We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally, if fencing is required it must be a physical fence and in place at time of home visit.

All our dogs have been treated for worms; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchip; and examined by veterinarian and given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed at time of adoption.
