Meet Rubi

Hello! My name is Rubi. I’m a Grt Pyrenees and Anatolian mix. I am 10 mos old, my birthday is Dec 20th. I love running and playing with my dog friends in my big fenced yard. My 1st mom was a jogger and I loved being her jogging companion. I am housebroken and crate trained. I am not destructive inside the house but my foster mom doesn't leave the garbage out where I can get to it. I like water too. I love to drink it and wade in it. I have a kiddie pool that I like to drink from and I love to bite at the water from the hose when my mom waters her garden or fills my pool. I like helping my mom dig in her garden and she is teaching me that she is the only one that gets to dig in those places. I am comfortable around toddlers and young children. I am careful not to knock them over when they are nearby. True to my Anatolian roots,I am shy when we first meet. I haven’t been around a lot of people outside of my family, whom I love and am loyal to. I will warm up to you within a few days if you’ll be patient with me and give me a chance. I am unsure about loud noises and quick movements until I learn your routines. Thunder doesn't bother me and I like to be in the house during fireworks, relaxing with my family. I am very food and treat motivated during my training sessions. I ask you to be patient with me while I learn about being on a leash because I do so love to run. I am getting better about it though and am sure it won’t be long until I’ve mastered it. My foster dad is an amputee and his crutches were scary at first, but I’ve learned they are ok and won’t hurt me. I am a grazer, not a gulper, when it comes to my kibble food. I have no issues with food or toy guarding. I like to sleep on my big bed at the feet of my family’s bed. At my first home, I wasn’t allowed on the furniture because I am so big. I have learned to be happy laying at their feet. I am very curious everytime they get up though. I like to ride in the back seat of the truck with my brother and sister. Mr. Kevin likes to take us lots of places. In my first home, we had a cat that I was ok with and in my foster home, we have a parrot that free flys once in a while. The bird doesn't freak me out any more when she flys to her cage. I’m sure she would bite my nose if I got too close, so I leave her alone and she leaves me alone. I currently have a large fenced yard to run in with a doggy door. I don't mind the tunnel to the door but am still unsure of the flaps. My foster family is patiently teaching me to use it. I watch my brother and sister use it and am sure I will soon master it.

Rubi is heartworm negative and up to date on preventatives and vaccines. She is scheduled to be spayed on October 17th. Her adoption fee is $350. Please fill out an application or email us at char@adoptgoodkarma.com if you are interested in meeting her.
