Roy Rogers's Story
We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.

___

Roy Rogers, 9 months old (DOB 10/24/24), neutered male, Chihuahua/Terrier mix, currently weighs 23 pounds. He is in a foster home in Kent, WA.

Roy was part of a large litter (12 puppies) born in San Antonio, Texas. His owner reached out asking for help to find this crew forever homes. Roy was one of 4 puppies who have been waiting for his forever home, when a family chose him a few weeks ago. He arrived to Oregon last week and within a few days his family asked to return him because he was having accidents in the home.

He has landed in a foster home in Washington and we are really hoping to find his forever home so he does not bounce around.

Roy grew up in a home with his siblings, mom along with other small and adult dogs. He also grew up with children ranging in age from 2-17 years old. We believe he would do great with cats as well given his sweet and gentle disposition.

As mentioned earlier, he is not fully housebroken. He is a fast learner and with patience and consistency we believe he will master this in no time. He is also not fully crate trained.

He walks really great on a leash and has enjoyed exploring, sniffing and getting exercise. He can be shy/nervous when first meeting OR he will come right up to for snuggles. Either way, he is really a very gentle and kind soul. He is not a barker despite his suspected breeds. He was the most mellow of the bunch and is lower energy. We think he will stay close to this weight as he has not grown much in the last few months.

We would really LOVE to find him a home that is willing to help him potty train. He would do great with another dog, but can also do great by himself. He will sleep all night in bed if you prefer. He likes to nap next to you.

If you are a reasonable distance to the KENT, WA area we would be happy to coordinate an in person meet and greet after out initial screening. If that is not possible, we would schedule a video chat with his foster home.

***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***

Interested in applying to adopt him?
