"Pretty woman walking down the street...." I'm Roy Orbison, and I am looking for a beautiful gal (or family) to be mine. I am a 4.5-year-old, 60-ish-pound, Standard Poodle gent, and I am SO ready to start living the good life. I spent the first 4+ years of my life cooped up in a cage serving as a breeder. Because of that, I don't really know much about what it's like to be a pet dog. I am looking for a patient, loving family to give me the life I deserve. I have already mastered house training, and I am crate trained (though I really don't like to be in my crate much, since I spent basically my whole life in one). I am still pretty freaked out about being on a leash, so I need a privacy fenced yard in my forever home. I am still very timid and shy with people, and am working on acceptation affection. but have made strides since coming to Rescue One. I get along with other dogs about my size. In fact, I would love to have another dog to hang out and play with in my forever home. I also get along with dog savvy cats. I need a calm household and people who will be patient with me as I learn to trust.

Right now I have a broken leg and am seeing the vet every few days. For the time being, I will need a home without small children, as I can be unaware of my own size. Sometimes in my exuberance, I show affection by being a bit too mouthy. Eventually, I know that I will learn this is not right because I have already learned how to take treats without biting!


My adoption fee is $150 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip!
