DOG'S DESCRIPTION
Roxy and Remy are best pals and stick to each other like glue so we would like to keep them together. We call them Frick and Frack because that is who they would take after in the human world and it gives you a good visual of their character. They are absolutely adorable little fluff balls! They are very friendly with humans and dogs. We aren't sure about cats. They are confident, outgoing, very energetic and playful...on the go all the time. One great reason to keep these besties together is that they play with and entertain each other! They will do best in a SFH with a big fenced yard for exercise and play time as well as with a family that currently enjoys long walks and would love some company. They can be barkers so are staying away from Apartment/TH/Condo living situations. They may have been housetrained at one time, but plan for a refresher course.
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
