Meet Roxy – A Shy but Sweet Gal Looking for a Patient Home
Roxy is a 5-year-old Cocker Spaniel mix who is still learning to trust humans, but she absolutely loves the company of other dogs. She is house-trained, spayed, microchipped, and fully up to date on her vaccinations.
Roxy’s journey hasn’t been easy—she came to the shelter in August 2023 after her owner was diagnosed with cancer and could no longer care for her. Pregnant at the time, she was taken in by B.A.R.K., and while all her puppies have found loving homes, Roxy is still waiting for hers.
Naturally skittish and timid around people, Roxy takes time to warm up and will need a patient family willing to let her build trust at her own pace. However, she thrives in the presence of other dogs and takes comfort in their companionship. In fact, when she sees them getting attention, her playful and affectionate side starts to shine—she’ll even nudge them aside to make sure she gets in on the love, too!
Roxy prefers not to share her treats and would do best in a home with children over the age of 5 and canine companions her size or larger. A family with prior dog experience would be ideal to help her continue gaining confidence.
If you’re looking for a gentle soul who needs a little extra patience but has so much love to give, Roxy might be the perfect match for you!
