Roxy Labrador Retriever Mix Fort Smith, NT

Roxie loves people, loves attention, loves to play ball and will be totally devoted to you if you simply give her love, food and walks. Roxie looks to be mostly lab and may have some other large breed – possibly even Rottweiler in her as she is an incredibly powerful dog with a deep chest, square jaw and slightly bowed back legs. I would guess that she weighs between 70 – 75 pounds. Roxie is around 10 years old and after her first family left town she was put on a chain for the past four years.  When Roxie came to us she had an open tumor hanging from her belly and we spent four weeks cleaning and caring for her while awaiting the vet visit. She has been with us since her surgery and loves her new indoor/outdoor life. She has healed very well and the vets do not feel that the tumor will reoccur. She is now healthy and active and in excellent condition. Roxie walks well on leash and does not mess her indoor pen at all. Of course adjusting to a larger home may come with a few accidents so crate training would be advisable at least in the beginning. Roxie learns very quickly and has mastered sit and come. A couple of our youth volunteers have been working on a variety of commands with her and love how responsive she is.
