Meet Roxxy
Roxxy is a gorgeous 18 month old, 95 lbs shepherd that is crate and house trained.
She will thrive in a home with clear, consistent, and firm boundaries where she can also be active, either with walks, playing at the dog park, or playing with other dogs.
Roxxy loves to run and play in the yard and will play with another dog. She does best with another dog that can handle her assertive play style and big personality. Is not a good fit for a dog that is fearful or overly submissive to another dog. We don't recommend her for small dogs.
She is being fostered with other GSDs (55lbs and 85lbs) and with guidance has been able to live compatibly with them.
Highly food-motivated, Roxxy takes to training well when there are no distractions and will walk well on a leash. She also receives multiple compliments when walking.
If there is a primary trainer in the household, she will bond to them most tightly but she will show love, affection, and goofiness to everyone in her home.
She has been in a foster home has 5 & 7 yr-old boys and they love her, and she's great with them, but these boys are also very comfortable around large animals as they have been raised with them their whole lives. We are at this time suggesting a home with teenage children or older as the best fit.
She tolerant of a very chill cat in the foster home but will pursue anything that runs away from her. In the foster home there is a 15 yr-old cat that doesn't move when she goes to inspect. However she has been given storng guidance to not bother the cat either, after a quick sniff she is redirected elsewhere.
Roxy will bark when people approach her fence, but not when approached on a walk. She knows her home and will protect it with her awesome bark!
She loves to play in the water and with the hose.
Roxy will thrive best with an experienced GSD home and with strong and consistent leadership. She is an active dog and will need a good amount of daily exerices.
