Hi! I'm Roxie. I'm a slim girl of 55 pounds and I'm a little over one-year-old. I'm a beautiful and sweet little lady with a heart of gold. I have this knack for making people happy and making people smile. I have this giving and generous energy that just spills over from me onto the people around me. When I share my love with you, I promise you'll feel like you've won the Jackpot PowerBall Millions because my love is actually that special!

I became a loving girl with a heart of gold despite my start in life which didn't come with an iota of specialness afforded to me. That means that even though I was not given any special attention (not even a name!) in my first year of life from my human, I persevered, hoping that some day in the not too distant future I'd be chosen as the Apple of Someone's Eye and become the Yin to their Yang, the Peanut Butter to their Jelly. That's actually something important to know about me: my resilience. And also, feeding me a PB & J isn't a half bad idea -- recommend!

I got rescued and helped and now I'm living at Desert Haven and I've experienced love and care from humans for the first time. Woo hoo! I love it! And I finally got a name! My name is Roxie. Oh boy, that feels good to say! My name is Roxie!

I'm Roxie, a Great Girl! Because of the patience from some of the volunteers who live here at Desert Haven I've learned to trust humans and to do all of the following: be leashed, go for walks, play with toys, play with other dogs, be petted, be cuddled, go through a doorway and how to spend time in a home, give kisses, ride in the car, go run and play while I'm off leash in a play-yard and then come back when called to get re-leashed because it's time to go, and I learned that I love hotdogs and patient people! I will do just about anything for hotdog bits and a patient person who spends some time with me every day building rapport and trust.

I love my "how to dog" lessons because I'm smart and enjoy learning and bonding. I'll continue to fully participate in all my lessons on being a family dog who is loved and cherished. I am eager to become proficient and am an excellent student! You're invited to come to meet me and see for yourself what a sweetheart I am. I assure you, it's legendary! Love, Roxie
