Meet Roux – Sweet and Gentle Soul Looking for Her Forever Home!
Roux is a soft-hearted, gentle dog who is learning what it means to be part of a family. At just 1 year old, she has already been through so much, spending her first year living outdoors on a puppy mill. She is learning how to trust humans and is slow to warm up, which makes each lick or wag of the tail that much more meaningful and rewarding.
Each day she's becoming more adjusted to life with a family and is seeking out interactions with the adult and teens in her foster home. She is eagerly learning all she can about life as a family dog from the resident dog. She enjoys prancing alongside him on leash walks, cuddling up near him, and she is trying her hardest to figure out how to play in his silly dog ways. With time and patience, Roux will make a wonderful companion for her lucky forever family.
Her gentle and timid nature would make her a great companion for other dogs and older children. Roux is still a bit cautious around loud noises and unpredictable movements, so she would do best in a quiet, calm environment where she can feel secure and safe. She’s getting more comfortable with her new surroundings every day, including learning to navigate stairs, but she will initially require patience and lots of positive reinforcement as she explores the world around her and gains confidence in her new home.
