Meet ROSIE HIGGINS (ADoption fee reduced to $150. Lets get her a home for the Holidays!)

See why BCSP is different!

Rosie Higgins weighs 22 pounds and is Heartworm negative.

She is a mild alpha. That means she will show another dog she is a leader but she asks for respect instead of being aggressive and demanding it. So to be on the side of safe, we are seeking a home with kids at least age 8 or older for her to be their companion.

She was fostered by a family with kids in elementary school and they are so well-behaved and respectful. Rosie and they had a great time together. They taught her to sit to be petted so Rosie will sit and look at you like "I'M HERE!!! Pet me!"

What a doll she is. She is now back with me with a group of up to 18 dogs loose together at a time, is a house dog, loves her crate, comes when called, is great on a leash, loves to be cuddle next to me on the sofa: she is such a pleasure to have around.

To adopt adorable ROSIE HIGGINS call Marilyn from 9:30am to 9:30pm at 573-722-3035. Her adoption fee is reduced to $150

Transport may be available.

Learn more about Rosie and her brother Rusty Higgins (Rusty is adopted). Their story follows:

Rosie and Rusty wandered on to the porch of an elderly couple in Wayne County, known as one of the top 5 poorest counties in Missouri. They could be siblings.

The elderly couple are ages 87 and 83. We took these pups within a day of the call because they only had table scraps to feed them and were worried about falling.

A friend and neighbor of theirs delivered the dogs to us Saturday May 25 and they were tested negative for Parvo and negative for Heartworms. They did show positive for Erlichia and we are treating them for 30 days with Doxycycline for the Erlichia. They have been de-wormed, given Frontline and are started on their monthly Heartworm preventive.

They should be easy to house train. It looks like they were outdoor dogs and generally outdoor dogs prefer to potty outside.

The Bollinger County Stray Project is pretty easy to work with. About 80% of our adoptions are with families from the St. Louis area, about 10% from all over the USA and Canada and only about 10% are adopted here, being in a 90 mile radius of our home.

Our Project dogs are well worth the drive and your time. Give us a call and share our Petfinder website. Thank you. We need you to help us make a difference!
