Rosie's Story

? Rosie's adoption fee is waived to approved adopter! Application and home greet are still required. ?

We are struggling to find even young pups a home. Rosie has been with us since she was only 5-6 weeks old, she is now over 1 year of age. All of the local shelters are reducing or doing free adoptions, and that is hurting our dogs chances at finding a home as well. We decided to waive her fee because she's waited so long, but we are still looking for someone who can afford to give her quality veterinary care and keep her in a high quality diet. If you can't afford her, don't submit an application.

Rosie has been on 4health Strive high energy/protein for a couple of weeks and she is finally starting to gain weight!

Alright folks, this is the last of the train track babies still waiting for a home! All of the girls waited over a year, we welcomed them into the rescue in April of 2024 when they were only 5-6 weeks old. No dog should ever wait this long for a family, a puppy...that is even more heartbreaking. ?

Buttercup was adopted earlier this year, Pebbles was just adopted, leaving our Rosie girl as the last.

Please help us find the family this baby girl so deserves! Sharing is caring, it is free and only takes a moment of your time.

? ADOPT ME ~ ROSIE ?

This speckled nose baby girl turned 1 year old in March and weighs only 34bs. She is tall, lanky, long, with a beautiful fawn coat, and has a little underbite. She is definitely on the thin side and could use a few pounds, we have always struggled to put weight on her, it could be her physique due to breed mix and/or some anxiety.

Rosie is being fostered with other dogs, and absolutely enjoys their company, however, she can be a bit rambunctious in play, so a dog who can match her energy is ideal. She is a shy girl around people, and it will take some time to earn her trust, but once she warms up, she'll be your best pal! She's starting to get comfortable on leash and during car rides.

She needs (as all puppies do), someone with time, patience and the knowledge to get her through the puppy stage, but also work on building her confidence. She needs exposure to new things, new people at her own pace, but understand she might never be the in your face out going kind of dog. She needs someone to help her become the best girl she can be!

Rosie willingly goes into the crate for a treat, however, she is still struggling with occasional accidents both inside and outside of the crate. She needs someone with a set schedule to get her into a really good routine. Rosie is good with bath time, nail trims, walks on leash politely, and rides in the car nicely.

Adoption includes- spay, rabies and all core vaccines, on a monthly flea/tick/hw preventative, microchip with free lifetime registration.

PLEASE READ OUR ADOPTION POLICIES AND REQUIREMENTS BEFORE SUBMITTING A APPLICATION!

Application: https://form.jotform.com/91824057701152

Located in Huntington, WV

River Cities Bully Buddies's Adoption Policy
Please send inquires to rcbbrescue@gmail.com for an application. If your application is approved a volunteer will contact you to set up a home-based meet and greet with the dog you are interested in. Our goal is to make the best possible match so if all goes well we will then set up a home visit and ask that a two week trial period be given to determine if the dog is a good fit for your family. RCBB does not want anyone to feel pressured to keep a dog they don't have a good connection with. (The adoption fee minus $25 will be reimbursed during this 2-week trial period.) If you decided that the dog is a good fit, a contract will then be signed and finalized. (The process time can vary depending on volunteer availability) *We DO NOT adopt out unaltered dogs, every dog that is in our program is spayed/neutered, so please do not ask! *We will NOT adopt out any of our dogs to homes who have an invisible fence, this is a NON-NEGOTIABLE. *Applicant must have non-discriminatory home owners insurance and/or *Applicant must have approval from landlord if renting. *We adopt to INDOOR homes only. *You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt. *Dogs already in the home must be spayed and/or neutered if over 6 months old and up to date on vaccines. *We DO NOT adopt our "pit bull" dogs out in areas with Breed Discriminatory laws, including within the city limits of Huntington (restrictions) or Barboursville (restrictions), Ceredo (ban), Kenova (ban), Bluefield (ban), Dunbar (restrictions), Montgomery (restrictions), WV....Rome Township in Proctorville, OH (ban), Flatwoods, KY (restrictions). NO EXCEPTIONS! *We require a home based meet and greet, so potential must be within reasonable driving distance of Huntington WV. We occasionally make acceptations for long term dogs and may travel further to place them. *Dogs require a 12-15+ year commitment, SERIOUS INQUIRES ONLY! ADOPTION FEES: $200 puppies under 1 year of age, $150 adults over 1 year of age and $100 for dogs 7 years and older, special circumstances fees may vary. This fee go towards the necessary medical care of our dogs. Our costs include dhppl and rabies vaccinations, spay/ neuter, de-worming, 4DX test for dogs over 6 months (to check for heartworm and tick borne illness), flea & heart worm preventative, microchip with free lifetime registration and often additional medical or surgical procedures for dogs who have been abused/neglected.
